This iconic, high-performance anti-aging serum had been reformulated three years ago and continues to be a bestseller.  The new formulation added three additional botanical ingredients while keeping the rest of its trustworthy, old favorites like bifida ferment lysate and hyaluronic acid. It claims to neutralize 90% of environmentally generated free radicals before it harms the skin. A year-long study shows that women who continued using this product shown a reduction in signs of aging.  Skin looks younger, smoother and more radiant. The fragrance-free, gentle serum is suitable for all skin types. Don’t have the patience to wait for achievable results? Try the new Advanced Night Repair Concentrate Recovery Boosting Treatment (1oz for $92), which has five times more concentration than the regular serum.

2. Lancome Visonnaire Advanced Skin Corrector    Buy Here

Lancôme claims that under clinical studies, 50% of women treated with this new serum decided to postpone cosmetic treatment (i.e., Botox, laser, or chemical peels). These women used Visonnaire twice a day continuously for 4 weeks.

This product is marketed as a “skin corrector” that defeats wrinkles, shrinks pores, removes unevenness and restores suppleness to your skin. The core element, jasmine plant-derived LR2412, is a 20-patent anti-aging molecule that penetrates through skin layers even better than retinol. It claims to boost collagen and diminish sun spots. Visonnaire is gentle enough to use on eye areas, and has been assessed by dermatologists to be non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. It however does include alcohol, which may be an irritant and dries out skin. A news release from the company states that when Visonnaire is used in conjunction with Genefique, it achieves fabulous results. You should apply Genefique first, since it enhances absorption and hence effectiveness by an astonishing five times (based on actual human tests at a Taiwanese University ????).

The pump design is both convenient and sanitary (won’t disrupt chemical properties). Visonnaire has a thicker, opaque consistency that is lighter than cream yet thicker than most serum.

3. Lancome Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate   Buy Here

I have been using this product twice a day for over a month now. I can see smoother skin but since I had been using Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, the result isn’t dramatically different.  I feel that it hydrates well and delivers supple, healthy skin.  The transparent serum is watery but works well with the drop bottle design.  The glass bottle is quite delicate and tall, so I am very careful about using this without tipping it over.

The Genefique shares its core technology with Advanced Night Repair, which is an yeast ferment (bifida ferment lysate). This product took ten years of research and seven patents. It claims to rejuvenate youth by stimulation production of silk proteins in 7 days. With 2010 CEW Beauty Insider’s Choice Award in hand and popularity ranking of number 3, that made my ultimate decision to try this particular product.
